The Town of Medfield invites you to celebrate 375 years of history, community, and hometown pride with a full day of festivities that will bring residents, families, alumni, and visitors together for an unforgettable celebration.

Meeting House Pond
When the parade concludes, the celebration continues just across the street at Meeting House Pond for Party in the Park, presented in partnership with Bellforge Arts Center.

🗺️ Parade Route
The Medfield 375th Anniversary Parade steps off at 11:00 AM and travels approximately two miles through the heart of Medfield.
The parade begins at Medfield High School and travels along South Street → Pound Street → Pond Street → Main Street → North Street, concluding near Memorial School.

Planning Your Visit
With thousands of people expected in Medfield on October 17, a little advance planning will help make your day as easy and enjoyable as possible.
🚗 Spectator Parking & Free Shuttle Service
Free public spectator parking will be available at Wheelock Elementary School, 17 Elm Street. The parking lot will open at 9:00 AM, with free shuttle service beginning at 9:30 AM. Shuttles will run continuously between the public parking area and downtown Medfield throughout the parade and Party in the Park. With road closures and significant Parade Day activity in the center of town, spectators should not plan on finding street parking downtown. Please use our FREE designated public parking and shuttle service. The final shuttle will leave the downtown pickup location at 4:45 PM.
♿ Accessible Parking & Assistance
Accessible parking spaces will be available within the public parking area at Wheelock Elementary School. For guests who may need a little additional assistance after arriving downtown, a golf cart will be available at the shuttle drop-off location to assist with getting into the center of town.
🚧 Road Closures & Getting Around
Parade Day will not be a normal Saturday morning for traffic in the center of Medfield. Road closures will begin around 9:00 AM, with closures put in place as needed as Parade Day operations get underway. The parade route will be closed to regular vehicle traffic, and additional streets surrounding the route will also be affected. If you're attending the parade: Please do not plan on driving into the center of town and finding street parking. Spectators are strongly encouraged to use the designated public parking and FREE shuttle service at Wheelock Elementary School. If you need to travel in or through Medfield: You'll still be able to get where you're going, but your usual route may not be available. Detours will be in place around road closures. Watch for posted detour signs, follow the directions of Medfield Police and traffic personnel, and allow extra travel time. Plan ahead — a trip that normally takes you straight through the center of town may look a little different on Parade Day.
🚻 Restrooms & Facilities
Planning to spend Celebration Day with us? Restroom facilities will be available at several convenient locations throughout the downtown area. Restroom locations include: Straw Hat Park Medfield Public Library Meeting House Park / Meeting House Pond Additional restroom facilities will also be available for Party in the Park, including an accessible unit. With the Grand Parade beginning at 11:00 AM and Party in the Park continuing from 1:00–4:00 PM, we hope you'll make a day of it! Come for the Parade. Stay for the Party. 💙
👀 Where to Watch the Parade
There are great viewing opportunities along most of the approximately 2-mile parade route, which begins at Medfield High School and travels along South Street, Pound Street, Main Street and North Street. The center of town is expected to be a popular viewing area, but spectators do not need to gather downtown to enjoy the parade. Those looking for additional space may want to consider South Street, Pound Street, and Main Street near the Pound Street intersection and the Peak House. These areas are all along the parade route and may offer less crowded viewing options. Planning to watch from North Street? If seeing the entire parade is important to you, we recommend choosing a location before the Public Safety Building. Many parade entries will begin dispersing onto Dale Street just beyond that area, so spectators positioned farther up North Street may not see every entry. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early, bring a chair, and choose a comfortable spot along the route. Grand Parade steps off at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17.
🍴 Food & Dining on Celebration Day
Come hungry — there will be plenty of ways to grab something to eat on October 17! Food trucks will be part of Party in the Park at Meeting House Pond from 1:00–4:00 PM, with a variety of food options planned for the afternoon. And don’t forget about our local businesses! Restaurants, markets and food businesses throughout Medfield have been made aware that we’re expecting a very large crowd for the 375th celebration and have been encouraged to prepare plenty of convenient grab-and-go options where possible. Whether you grab a slice, pick up something quick around town, visit one of the food trucks, or bring your lunch over to Meeting House Pond and make a picnic of it, there will be plenty of ways to refuel between the Grand Parade and Party in the Park. 🎒 What Should I Bring?
October 17 will be a full day of celebration, so a few simple items can help make your experience more comfortable. We recommend bringing: - A portable chair or blanket to use while watching the parade and relaxing at Party in the Park - Comfortable shoes, since parking, shuttle service and walking between activities may require time on your feet - Layers or weather-appropriate clothing, since October weather in New England can be unpredictable - Water, especially if you plan to spend several hours enjoying the day - Sunscreen, as even an October sun can be strong during a long outdoor event Many spectators may also want to bring a small bag or tote to carry personal items throughout the day. After the parade passes your viewing area, bring your chair or blanket with you and make your way to Meeting House Pond for Party in the Park, where you can settle in on the lawn and continue the celebration.
⏰ When Should I Arrive?
The Grand Parade steps off at 11:00 AM, but spectators should plan to arrive well before the parade begins. Celebration Day is expected to bring thousands of people into Medfield, and road closures will begin around 9:00 AM. Give yourself plenty of time to park, take the shuttle, walk to your viewing location and get settled. - Spectator parking at Wheelock Elementary School opens at 9:00 AM. - Free shuttle service to downtown begins at 9:30 AM. - Road closures begin around 9:00 AM and will continue as needed in preparation for the parade. - The Grand Parade steps off at 11:00 AM. The closer it gets to parade time, the more difficult it may be to move around town. Arriving early will make your Celebration Day experience much easier. Once the parade passes your viewing location, bring your chair or blanket with you and make your way toward Meeting House Pond for Party in the Park and continue the celebration.
🚓🚒 Public Safety & First Aid
Medfield Police, Fire and emergency personnel will have a visible presence throughout Celebration Day, helping support a safe and enjoyable event for residents and visitors. First Aid will be available near Bank of America in the center of town. If you need assistance during the day, public safety personnel or one of our event volunteers can help connect you with the appropriate resources. You’ll also see volunteers stationed throughout the parade route and celebration areas. Volunteers can answer questions, provide directions and help you find assistance when needed. While dedicated personnel are supporting the parade and celebration, Police, Fire and emergency services will continue to provide coverage throughout the rest of Medfield. And when you see our Police and Fire crews out and about on October 17, make sure you say hello! They’re an important part of our Medfield community. 💙
💵💳 Cash, Cards & ID
Planning to enjoy food and refreshments during Celebration Day? We recommend bringing a little cash along with your credit or debit cards. Cash & Credit Credit Cards While we expect most food vendors to accept credit or debit cards, payment options may vary. Having some cash on hand is a good idea. ATMs There are four banks along Main Street with ATMs available for cash withdrawals. Please keep in mind that road closures will be in effect on October 17, so plan accordingly. Beer & Wine Garden — Party in the Park A beer and wine garden will be available at Meeting House Pond during Party in the Park for guests ages 21 and older. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. A valid photo ID is required for anyone purchasing alcohol, regardless of age. Don't forget your ID! Whether you're 25, 45, 65, 85 or older, please have it with you if you plan to purchase alcoholic beverages. A little planning ahead will help you spend less time worrying about the details and more time enjoying Celebration Day!
